Tiny And Handy Self-Defense Tools

By Sue O Wouod

The city I reside in is known for its very high crime rate. According to local statistics, an individual is mugged here every twelve seconds. And according to those very same figures, females just like me are twice as likely to become attacked out on the streets.

With a great deal of threat close to you, it seems sensible to invest in your personal protection no matter how expensive it gets sometimes. Luckily, a good buddy of mine helped me discover an inexpensive solution using pink Mace pepper spray for self-defense.

Pepper spray is the weapon of choice for law enforcement agents seeking to control and also subdue rowdy crooks. It works by producing an unpleasant burning sensation within the eyes as well as on the skin of anyone it touches.

Additionally, several hot pepper sprays, such as the Mace Personal Model Hot Pink 10% pepper spray which I use, will result in the irritation of the mucous membranes, which in return causes the eyes to swell shut and makes it tough to breathe.

Despite its serious effects, pepper spray is non-lethal and the effects wear off after 20 minutes or so. The idea would be to make use of it to buy time to get away from your attacker and ask for assistance rather than to stay and fight.

One of the things which troubled me as soon as I first heard about defense sprays was that the containers were too large to hide effectively. But, like many other consumer items, they certainly do come in a wide variety of sizes.

There are many different mini pepper sprays and key chain pepper sprays designed for folks needing a lightweight, pocket-sized self-defense tool. Oftentimes, they are tiny enough to carry on a key chain or conceal in the palm of your hand.

A small pepper spray provides you with the element of surprise during a confrontation given that no one will truly see it coming. I myself have utilized my pink Mace pepper spray in this way and can say that it is an effective means to use a defense spray.
